This year’s Workday event will take place at Pennypacker Park in Haddonfield, NJ. Pennypacker Park is a small, unassuming park located in South Jersey with an incredible past. The bones of a Hadrosaurus foulkii dinosaur were excavated from this park in the late 1800’s and became NJ’s state fossil.
Once again, the Garden State Tree Conference will be held at Harrah's Resort in Atlantic City, NJ. The conference will begin with a pre-conference workshop day on Wednesday, February 26 followed by two days of our traditional conference on February 27 and 28 with tracks in both English and Spanish on both days. Registration will be coming soon on our new webpage.
The ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (ISA TRAQ) is a voluntary qualification program designed to train and assess candidates in a specialized field of arboriculture. When a professional earns the ISA TRAQ credential, they will be recognized by their peers and the public as a tree care professional who has specialized knowledge in tree risk assessment. To earn the qualification, eligible candidates must complete a training course, and pass both a comprehensive written assessment and a performance-based assessment.
Come on out to Camp Tecumseh for a friendly climbing competition between arborists from the NJ Chapter of the ISA, the Penn-Del Chapter of the ISA, the Ohio Chapter of the ISA, and the New York State Arborist Chapter of the ISA.
The NJ Chapter of the ISA is preparing to host our annual Tree Climbing Competition, which will be held at Cadwalader Park in Trenton, NJ. The event will start on Friday, June 7 with Gear Check and Ascent starting at 1pm - 5pm. Saturday, June 8 will begin with a walk-through promptly at 7:30am. Please plan to arrive by 7:00am on Saturday: the competition events will begin no later than 8:30am.
We are happy to partner with the NJ DEP, the NJ Tree Foundation, and the City of Camden to celebrate Arbor Day in Camden this year.

The ISA TRAQ is a voluntary qualification program that is valid for 5 years, at which point you would take a renewal program to extend the qualification another 5 years. Please note: if five years have passed since your initial TRAQ certification and it is now expired, you will need to re-enroll in the full 3-day TRAQ certification program. This is the renewal program for those people who retain an active TRAQ certification.
This year’s Work Day event will take place at Cadwalader Park in Trenton, NJ. Cadwalader Park is the largest urban park in the City of Trenton (109.5 acres), and it is crossed by the Delaware and Raritan Canal State Park.
Come on out to Morris Arboretum’s Horticulture Center for a friendly climbing competition between arborists from the NJ Chapter of the ISA, the Penn-Del Chapter of the ISA, and the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the ISA. This year, the Penn-Del chapter is hosting the competition at Morris Arboretum’s Horticulture Center.

The event will start on Friday, June 9 with Gear Check and Ascent starting at 12pm - 5pm. Saturday, June 10 will begin with a walk-through promptly at 7:30am. Please plan to arrive by 7:00am on Saturday: the competition events will begin no later than 8:30am. The male and female winners of the masters’ challenge event on June 10 will qualify for the International Tree Climbing Competition in Albuquerque, NM on August 11-13.
